A space-saving new focusing system uses a stepping motor (STM) to move all the lens elements in unison. This reduces the overall barrel length and produces remarkable consistency across the focus range from approx. 8 inches to infinity.

Shoot wide open at f/2.8 to give your photos and videos shallow depth of field. Make sharp subjects stand out against softly blurred backgrounds with large, round bokeh.

The combination of the larger Z mount and the fast f/2.8 aperture lets in ample light, so you can turn up the shutter speed to prevent blur or shoot videos in whatever light is available.

Get as close as 8 inches from your subject and use the wide 26mm perspective, shallow depth of field and lifelike sharpness to transform the ordinary into extraordinary.

The included lens hood's clever design both protects the front element and accepts convenient 52mm threaded filters.
